Educator Learning, Efficacy, and Culturally Relevant Curricula

How can evidence-based and contextually grounded approaches enhance teaching and learning?

This program combines efficacy research with the design and evaluation of culturally relevant curricula to strengthen educator and student outcomes. As Research Director at The Muraqaba School, I develop research agendas for our spiritually-rooted social and emotional learning frameworks, and develop and lead Islamically Integrated Consent & Respectful Relationships Education (CRRE) programs.

I have also led large-scale educational studies with BrainPOP, assessing how digital learning tools support engagement, SEL, and academic growth, and conducted deep-dive partnerships with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, collaborating directly with schools to use data-driven insights for whole-school SEL implementation.
